Weighted Clubs
PJ ForbesDuring the off season I swing weighted clubs indoors. It’s a great way to keep my muscles in tune adn toned. Weight clubs that are well-balanced and weigh about 25 ounces – you might like someting lighter. Weighted clubs are very popular and easy to find in most shops. You may want to avoid the donut type model as it puts the club out of balance. First you’ll want to stretch. Then start by making a few slow-motion swings working up to full swings, but never swinging hard as these clubs are much heavier. You’ll notice that as you swing, because of the added weight, you have a clear idea of where the club head is at all times. That’s a good thing if you overswing. Finish your exercise by swinging a regular club. You’ll notice how weightless your regular club feels!
