Creator of The “Draw” System

Nick Bayley is the author of the highly successful “Draw System” which has been used by over 5000 golfers to hit the ball further, straighter and more consistently. And Nick was recently interviewed by The New Zealand Golf Gazette where he shared his secrets to fixing the dreaded golf slice.

Golf Gazette:
Hi Nick, and thanks a lot for agreeing to do this Interview. So let’s get straight
into it. Why did you create a system to fix golfers slice and how long did
it take to put together?

Nick: The reason
I created The “Draw” System was because one day I was surfing
the web and I saw a statement that said “85% of golfers slice the ball.”
Seeing that statement stopped me dead in my tracks and I decided right then
and there to do something to help as many golfers as I could to fix this problem.
Because being able to consistently draw the ball is easy, BUT it’s
only easy if you’re shown how. Like anything, if you don’t know how to do
it, or have never been shown then of course it’s hard or difficult.

Learning This Drill Could Cause You To Gain Some Serious Yards! This drill is really simple and very effective at teaching you how to release the club.

First, setup to a ball as normal but take your right foot and place this foot well back from your left foot so you are forming a very closed stance.

If you are not sure whether your feet are closed enough it’s better to over exaggerate, rather than the opposite.

From this very closed stance position you simply have to swing as normal, with one
exception. When swinging try to keep your right foot on the ground during the entire swing.

Doing this means that you are forced to use your arms and hands to release the clubhead, and that’s why this drill is so good. Keep doing this drill until you release your hands automatically from a square stance position.

Ah those elusive short putts! Here are some fun tip to keep in mind when you need to work on your putting.

A fun little way to practice your putts is to sink 5 putts from a foot away and then 5 from two feet, then three feet, four and so on. If you miss any shot you get to start over!

Another fun way to practise your putts is to try putting at a quarter. Put a quarter anywhere on the green and try putting to it. This improves your focus and when you get back to putting to the pin you’ll be amazed how much better you are.

Here’s another easy but effective drill. Put a dime behind the ball and then putt while keeping your eyes on the dime through the stroke. Don’t follow the ball just keep your eyes on the ball!
Another great tip is when you’re putting downhill. Try putting the ball with the toe of the putter, not the sweet spot. It tends to deaden your shot!

And last… keep a written record of your putts when you’re out on the course. A written record of your putts’ ups and downs will give you the perspective needed to efficiently work on those areas of your game that are lacking.
